So, having spent far too much money on a trumpet I, this evening, faced my orchestral debut. Sitting 1st Cornet and 3rd Trumpet, whilst mysteriously holding the title of associate principle, at Brent Symphony Orchestra I played, with a large number of other people, a rather varied programme of french music which can be viewed on that there website linked to before.
Probably more to blogged about this now, but its late and I want to go to bed

I apologize, my dearest public, for leaving you without word nor heed for so many days. It is true that I have been busy, but the shear volume of frantic emails enquiring after my health and begging for an update on my musings tells me that I should have posted earlier. Henceforth I promise to prioritize higher that which is this blog.
Meanwhile, I got drunk with an orchestra last night (as often happens on Wednesdays) and as seems to be an all to common occurrence, I’ve taken up a new instrument, joined another ensemble and have a gig.
The chairman of the orchestra has offered to lend me a Violin, so that I might learn to understand this “string malarkey The general manager of the orchestra has suggested that I might form part of a piano quartet, and I’m probably playing Holy Trinity Brompton on the 17th December.
Its all terribly exciting.

I realised I’ve not posted about my pantomime. Realised isn’t so much the word. I was accused of being embarrased about it. My indirect reponse to that was to cover the accuser in demerara sugar. You will think that this was an over reaction, particularly when I’d just drunk a bottle of his wine, but it was – at the time – very amusing. Now I feel slightly guilty, and he definately started it.
So the point of this post is to tell you about the pantomime. I am the musical director for the Holy Cross Player’s rendition of Cindarella. It will be a fine perfomance featuring thespians of all ages and some of the finest music ever written.
You’ll love it – performances are the 5th 6th and 7th of january 2006 at the holy cross church in greenford. Email me or post a message if you want a ticket.
