Terminal Addiction to Boredom
I think I might have caught some kind of strange blogging condition. I’m far too enthusiastic about it. I’m sure it will ware off in about 10 minutes.
Ignoring that, the real point of this entry is a short discussion on today’s (or last weeks at least) men in hats. I think that this article quite neatly describes the ultimate goal in most everyday people’s lives. The idea is that we work for ages and have enough resources to do all of the things that we want to do. I don’t think anyone really worries about what happens when (or if) we finally get there. I guess the assumption is that we wont. Most people aren’t “happy”, in that they don’t have all the things they want or they’re not in the situation they want to be, but I guess many people are happy quietly persuing there life’s desires. Totally aware and content that they will never achieve them all thus neatly avoiding the final pain of that cartoon.
