Terminal Addiction to Boredom

I think I might have caught some kind of strange blogging condition. I’m far too enthusiastic about it. I’m sure it will ware off in about 10 minutes.
Ignoring that, the real point of this entry is a short discussion on today’s (or last weeks at least) men in hats. I think that this article quite neatly describes the ultimate goal in most everyday people’s lives. The idea is that we work for ages and have enough resources to do all of the things that we want to do. I don’t think anyone really worries about what happens when (or if) we finally get there. I guess the assumption is that we wont. Most people aren’t “happy”, in that they don’t have all the things they want or they’re not in the situation they want to be, but I guess many people are happy quietly persuing there life’s desires. Totally aware and content that they will never achieve them all thus neatly avoiding the final pain of that cartoon.
Bring on retirement :-)

Next Issue :-s

Here’s an exciting new issue. Look at the exciting calender at the bottom right of this page. Do you see how the “smtwtfs” has lots of space around it. Well that’s the issue. I don’t want it there and I don’t know how to get rid of it. Its been bugging me for nearly a day now :-(

Found a Brass Band

Well how’s about that. I’ve been sitting around vaguely searching google for a band for a about a year now. All of a sudden I find one which rehearses within walking distance of my house!
Hanwell Band they’re called. I have no idea if they need a Baritone player, or if I’ll up to the kind of standard they are looking for. I guess I’ll find out.
Thinking about it, I have no idea who I emailed. It was an anonymous email on a website. This page to be precise. Looks like they might need a new webmaster too. We’ll see.

Why all the issues?

I now have this site looking almost exactly like I want it to. There are two major issues which are plaguing me. The first is that the border around the search box in the menu area to the right of this story is incomplete. It is obviously the search link painting over it for some reason. I do not no why it is doing this. The second is that the news articles are not taking up the full width of the browser. I have no idea what is causing this either. If you are that way inclined, feel free to take a look at the code and post suggestions to this article. I’m stumpted :-(

Welcome to Tomorrow!

Having spent far too long playing with the layout of this site, I have now reached a point where the day has changed from today to tomorrow. Or from yesterday to today depending on how you look at it.
Today I have sat on the sofa a lot doing very little. I have read a small number of web pages. I have drunk a small amount of rum and eaten a chicken and mushroom thing which I made up. It had rice in.
Tomorrow is my last full day in the US. I’m not really looking forward to coming back to the UK at all. I’ve got quite used to not doing anything.

The first post

Right. Having given up completely on the evilness which is Mambo. I’ve decided to switch to a CMS which starts off looking at least a bit like what I want it to end up like. Its going to take a little while, but hopefully I can bend this one around to look exactly like I want.
Don’t get me wrong. Mambo is lovely. Its just that the pages it produces aren’t standards compliant, which makes it useless. Hopefully one day it will be corrected.
